Hang up your suit. Put away your pumps. Grab your imagination and join us for a storytelling adventure. Welcome to the Treehouse, a discovery destination for alumni brought to you by the Harry L. Davis Center for Leadership.
Treehouse provides a fun space for members of the Booth community to explore, connect, stretch and share your non-professional interests. The Davis Center believes that leadership is a life-long pursuit that involves continual learning from conventional and sometimes unconventional sources.
By sharing what they love to do outside of work and engaging in new forms of learning, individuals can discover fresh insights that can deepen their impact both professionally and personally.
We look forward to welcoming several six minute presentations from members of the Booth community about leadership lessons derived from their interests outside of work. Our speakers include:
-
Sheila Arora, ’11 will share her passion for abstract painting
-
Adam Bowen, graduate of Booth’s Advanced Management Program, will share lessons learned from competitive sailing
-
Janine Durbin, ‘99 will share how she uses her love of baking to have a positive impact on the community
-
Linh Lam, ’15, will share what she has learned from CrossFit
-
Kevin Murphy, George J. Stigler Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at Chicago Booth, will discuss his interest in wood working
-
Rafi Nulman, ’15, will share the joy he finds in smoking hookah, a Middle Eastern water pipe
-
Davis Yang, ’17 will share his passion for ballroom dancing
Professor Harry Davis Roger L. and Rachel M. Goetz Distinguished Service Professor of Creative Management, Chicago Booth, will moderate a brief panel discusion at the conclusion of the presentations.
Treehouse is a pilot program for both novices and experts. The emphasis here is on creative exchange, not level of mastery.
Please join us as a member of the audience and soak up some me inspiration. Treehouse is free and open to all Booth community members. Advanced registration is required.
